Advanced Biomedical Instrumentation Centre (ABIC) cordially invite you to participate in the forthcoming symposium, titled “From Bench to Bedside: Symposium on Research Commercialization of Organoid-Based Innovations and Biomedical Instrumentation”, hosted by ABIC and co-organized by the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park. The event is collectively supported by BiomOrgan, C2i, C2i Tech, CVVT, GLOAS, HSITP and Invitrocue.

Date: Dec 2nd, 2023 (SAT)

Time: 1300-1730 (Registration: 1230)

Venue: Multi-function Room 2-3, Inno2, 2/F, Building 17W, Hong Kong Science Park

The symposium aims to bring together experts from diverse disciplines to discuss the challenges, opportunities, and strategies for effectively commercializing research related to organoid-based innovations and biomedical instrumentation. For instance, the FDA Modernization Act 2.0 recently legitimized that drugs thoroughly tested using either animal or non-animal models can proceed to clinical trials upon FDA approval. Furthermore, patient-derived organoids remain stable when grown outside the body, making them a valuable laboratory tool for ex vivo drug screening. The translation of these breakthroughs into commercial applications with impacts on clinical practice requires a concerted effort from researchers, industry professionals, and policymakers. The event will be structured as a crossover between academia and industries to explore trans-disciplinary business collaborations. Your valuable involvement will, therefore, substantially contribute further to the success of this collaborative effort.
