In disease prevention and treatment, early diagnosis and personalized treatment planning is important. This talk will discuss recent developments in diagnosis, monitoring, and understanding of cancer progression through liquid biopsy, image machine learning, and organ-on-chip devices. We developed a few microvascular and tumor mimetic microfluidic testing platforms to evaluate the biotransport of drug carriers and cells. A microfluidic device with hierarchical meso-to-capillary self-assembled vessels is developed to mimic vascularized tumor microenvironment and study tumor metastasis. Droplet emulsion is used to generate micro tumor beads with high throughput. Lastly, potential precision medicine through fast tumor spheroid and patient derived organoid culturing and personalized drug screening will be described.
