Memorable Times at ISSIB-II

It is gratifying to see that ISSIB-II has been successfully held in Hong Kong. The success of this international symposium belongs to every participant who contributed in their own way to the meeting. More than 150 registered delegates descended on The University of Hong Kong in early January 2010 for ISSIB-II and eminent speakers gave inspirational talks at the symposium. For two and half days, delegates presented, discussed and interacted. And old friends met and new friendships were forged. I am really pleased that ISSIB-II provided an unforgettable forum for researchers, young and old, in the biomaterials and tissue engineering field and glad that people travelled, for short or long distances, from Europe, North America, Asia and Australasia to attend this meeting in Hong Kong. There are memorable times at ISSIB-II for every participant, and photos in the gallery give highlights of the symposium.

As was announced at the ISSIB-II banquet on January 5, 2010, the next ISSIB meeting, ISSIB-III, will be organized by Professor Fumio Watari of the School of Dental Medicine of Hokkaido University, Japan. Friends and fellow researchers will be meeting again for ISSIB-III in the summer of 2011 in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan. Our best wishes for a successful ISSIB-III.

I look forward to meeting you, old and new friends, again in the future.

With warm regards.
